Honestagawd, J, I really can't get md about the routinely murderous Red Chinese govt doing this. Allow me to explain with a simple exercise:

1--Stand in front of a nirror

2--Look yourself right in the eye.

3--Tell yourself out loud, "I am 100% sure the Olmert government will never deal with Hamas, but will fight it with all its strength."

See, you can't do it!! At least, not with a straight face. Or without crying.

The elected govt of Israel doesn't even understand who its enemies are...why shd we criticize other govts for refraining from doing their fighting for them?

J, there has never been a more favorable international environment for Israel than today--a thousand times better than the 50's thru the 80's. Remember when the Arabs had 20,000 Red nuclear missiles backing them up, and scaring the US?

Now Russia is slightly opposed, on balance, the US has the most pro-Israel Prez and Congress EVER, EEurope is totally pro-Israel... But no country wants to appear "more Catholic than the Pope," so THEY WILL FOLLOW ISRAEL'S LEAD. BELIEVE IT.

LET ME GIVE YOU WORDS OF WISDOM THAT I LEARNED YEARS AGO:

BRUTE STRENGTH CREATES ITS OWN ARGUMENTS.

Most people are cowards, not heroes. They are afraid of frightening things/people. If they have a choice of doing a thing they believe is right, but antagonizing a scary person, or doing a thing they believe is wrong but antagonizing a peaceful person...they will do the wrong thing.

IF THEY HAVE A CHOICE.

Israel is giving them that choice.

This dynamic has been repeated over and over since the 30s (appeasement to the Nazis, Fascists, and Communists), and more recently with the USSR, then the Taliban, NKorea, now Chavez in Venezuela, and Iran, of course..."Oooooh, that crazy violent guy is so scary...Let's not get him mad at us. Humor him. Meet with his ambassador."

I guarantee you, it would be CHILD'S PLAY for a determined Israeli PM to inspire 75% of the Americans to support a "peace thru strength" policy...IF HE MADE FELT STRONGLY ENOUGH TO MAKE THE CASSE FOR IT. Then cowardly politicians would flock to support THE STRONGER PARTY, THE PARTY THAT IS NOT GOING TO BEND.

BRUTE STRENGTH CREATES ITS OWN ARGUMENTS.

WHEN YOU HAVE CREDIBLE FORCE ON YOUR SIDE, YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT HOW PERSUASIVE YOUR ARGUMENTS SUDDENLY BECOME.

REMEMBER IT.

WHEN ISRAEL DECIDES TO SAVE ITSELF, REALLY DECIDES TO, THEN EFFECTIVE OPPOSITION WILL DISAPPEAR LIKE MAGIC.
