Change Will Do You Good

The beeb will be airing a program on Monday the 5th about how Muslims can reclaim their religion from the extremists :

In an epic journey through five Muslim countries, writer and broadcaster Ziauddin Sardar has been in search of the soul of Islam.

As people of all creeds recoil from recent and increasingly horrifying acts of violence carried out in the name of Islam, how can Muslims around the world reclaim their faith from the extremists?

The question is, who are the extremists and what is there to reclaim? Is Islam against terrorism, or are the regular decapitations of non Muslims (and some Muslims too) as part of jihad (which is anything but an inner struggle for peace) all around the Islamic world something Islam tolerates? If jihad is the duty of all Muslims, therefore the acts of jihad (the struggle) are a must. I think this extract from the quran says it more than clearly ;

Sura Al-Anfal [8:12-12] (Shakir translation)
When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.
That sounds like an approval to me!
So will this be another whitewash from the bbc, or will we hear some truths this time, however scary they may be.
