WH Smith Still Promoting Anti-Jewish Publications

The website of one of Britain's leading book retailers was this week still selling some of the worst anti-semitic books in print more almost a month after it promised to remove them.

High street giant WH Smith was told by the Jewish News three weeks ago that it was offering customers such classic hate tracts as The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and Henry Ford’s The International Jew.

A spokesman claimed the books had been removed from the site. But this week two versions of the Protocols and several volumes of The International Jew were still available.

The Jewish News this week also provided WH Smith with a list of more than 15 anti-semitic books, including Did Six Million Really Die? and Tales of the Holohaux, which are currently for sale on the site.

A spokesman said yesterday: "WH Smith has committed to removing the titles that were brought to our attention several weeks ago and are currently investigating how they reappeared on the site. We will also look into the extended list of titles you have presented to us today."

And let's not ignore the numerous editions of Hitler's "Mein Kampf" that also appear for sale on the site, in eight different versions :

Update - If you want to complain to Smiths, check out their submission form [no, not that type of submission] and make yourself heard

I hope your counter is working today. You're going to have a ton of traffic. I got you at number 3 on the Little Green Footballs open thread. And, the article you posted on (Ahmadinejad admitting the Palestinian issue is not about geographical territory) is so important I think Charles will pick up your post.

Good luck, my friend.

Great site! Thanks Pastorius - I'm one of the LGF'ers that came.

J - I wonder if any of Robert Spencer's, Bat Ye'or, Serge Trifkovic, Margoliouth, Kenneth Timmerman, Oriana Fallaci, Steven Emerson, Ibn Warraq or Dr. Andrew Bostom's books are currently offered for sale?

:)

Nope, nope and nope.

It's obviously better for business being a dhimmi rather than being called an "islamophobe"

This wouldn't be so bad (with freedom of speech and all that) if it weren't for Smith's tendency to self-sensor minor transgressions of its own morals.

Hi J,

Thanks for the tip. You forgot to take care of an important aspect of this whole issue that we, the Elders, could not overlook, so see it here:

In general, you are welcome to visit, we have blogrolled you already.

Best wishes.
