Text Vote Talent Shows, A Crime Against Islam

SAUDI mobile operator Mobily has stopped users from text- message voting for an Arab Fame Academy-style competition because of an Islamic decree branding the reality show immoral, the company said yesterday.

Saudi religious scholars last May condemned the hugely popular talent show, which was broadcast by Lebanese channel LBC, as a crime against Islam. "The decision was taken last night because of a fatwa (religious decree) issued last year, since the programme is culturally inappropriate," company spokesman Humoud Alghodaini said.

"It shows men and women living in one house, sometimes semi-naked and in inappropriate situations," he added.

Oh gosh! Where it could end? Such depravity. The next thing you know, a woman will show her ankle in public, Allah forbid...

damn, the zionist plan to have lady's ankles showing on saudi tv has been thwarted.

and we would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

BTW, what is a semi-naked person in Saudi Arabia?

Methinks we need an example, just to know what to avoid, of course ;-)

i think it's when the women wear the ninja outfit with the eyeslits, rather than the one with the veil that covers the eyes too.
